This method is aimed at allaying the sympathetic part of the vegetative nervous system (active in stress situations), that is independent of one’s will, and which I normally teach in 8 sessions in a private class.
This relaxation technique improves temperature regulation, reduces abdominal pain, perspiration, TIC, slows down respiration, and relaxes the muscles. Following the standard formulas of autogenic training, the patient and I prepare a priority list of his/her most important everyday emotional problems, and prepare an additional part specifically to deal with these tensions. After 3 months of practicing the method, we meet again and make an evaluation, and if necessary further develop previous formulas.
